An epic tale of forbidden love, familial bonds, and cultural identity, unfolding across two timelines (the present and the summer of 1968), Bombay Blood explores the relationships between Raj, an older Indian man who emigrated to the States in his late twenties; his daughter Caroline, a first generation half-Indian American music journalist; and his old friend Devi, a former singer in a band in India’s all but forgotten late sixties rock scene. When Caroline accompanies Raj to Mumbai to attend a funeral, she uncovers her father’s secret history—a history that has the potential to either tear their relationship apart or bring them closer together.
